Description
The Smith & Wesson 642 No Internal Lock Double-Action Revolver is the small .38 special that all small J-frame revolvers are measured by. With a steel barrel and cylinder, the Airweight shaves some ounces off with the aluminum alloy frame. The 642 features a long, but manageable double-action trigger pull that is fairly simple to “stage” right before what feels like a single-action trigger. The hammer is integral and enclosed for a snag-free design. Still a popular choice backup firearm to law enforcement. The 642 also pairs well with a quality pocket holster. The synthetic rubber grips do an excellent job absorbing some of the recoil for a more comfortable shooting experience. NOTE: “No internal lock” refers to the firearm not having a built in child safety lock that requires a special key to operate the firearm.
