The solid design also gives the hammer an overall weight of 32 ounces, making it even more useful for camp. This two-piece GP recovery shovel gives you a few more utility features over the solid one-piece shovel while maintaining the same durability and simplicity. The shovel comes apart at a pinned coupler, turning the top portion into a very handy 32oz. hammer with a brass fitting on the end for help with those tent and awning stakes. The coupler design is anti-rotational and fully welded for added durability like the rest of the shovel. The Brass Fitting for the Hammer is also replaceable when it gets worn out!
