Designed to be used with bent butt tackle this rod holder features a unique swivel base that allows the rod butt to rotate when side pressure is applied to the tip of the rod. This feature is especially important in Giant Blue Fin Tuna fishing where reel drags up to 60 pounds are frequently used resulting in tremendous forces being applied to the rod holder pin. With this swivel base rod holder sheared rod holder pins are a thing of the past and the tip of the rod can follow the fish reducing the possibility of line fraying and enhanced drag.
