Description
The Sig Sauer P228 M11-A1 DA/SA Semi-Auto Pistol is a Sig 228 with some upgraded additions designed specifically for military use. The M11-A1 passed the military’s accuracy requirements, even after 20,000 rounds and passed their 240-hour salt-spray corrosion test. The M11 fits 2 additional rounds in a flush-fit magazine allowing for 15+1 to be carried in the firearm. Sig includes their Short Reach Trigger, which is a slim trigger that is set further back in the trigger guard for an easier reach and more comfortable pull. The M11’s trigger guard is enlarged for use with pilot gloves. The internals include a Short Reset Trigger allowing for a very short reset between shots for less wasted energy and faster follow-up shots. The slide on the modern 11 is a one-piece slide, something Sig switched to on all Classic P-Series pistols. The magazine well is slightly larger to accommodate for the extra rounds and allow for easy mag changes, even where dirt and debris normally dictate your situation. The DA/SA (Double-Action/Single-Action) trigger can be returned to DA for safer carry simply by pressing the decocking lever on the left side of the firearm. SIGLITE night sights aid in sight acquisition when in low-light arenas. All Sig Classic P-Series pistols feature a reversible mag catch, setting the bar prior to many manufacturers in doing what is now expected on newer firearms. The front strap features horizontal serrations for a controlled grip, which pairs well with the factory-textured grip panels. The Nitro-coated, carbon-steel slide features full-height serrations. The aluminum-alloy frame shaves weight while maintaining the feeling of an extremely durable and reliable platform in your hand. The compact size and absolute rigidity of the M11 makes it an excellent carry choice.
