PSE Archery has been acquired by Heritage Outdoor Group. But who are they?

Big news in the archery industry today as PSE Archery has been acquired by the newly formed Heritage Outdoor Group.

Zack Gleeson, CEO of Heritage Outdoor Group, told Free Range American, “We are thrilled to welcome PSE Archery to the Heritage Outdoor Group’s family of brands.”

If you’ve never heard of the Heritage Outdoor Group, it’s because they are a newly formed company looking to expand their offerings in the archery market. As stated by Gleeson, they are “a new investment holding company designed to acquire really innovative outdoor brands.”  PSE appears to be the first brand on their list of acquisitions.

“Our plan is to put PSE back on the map from a marketing perspective, so you’ll see a lot more original content coming out,” said Gleeson. “You’re also going to see some really cool new partnerships.”

According to his LinkedIn profile, Gleeson is an industry veteran who has spent time at multiple brands including Kryptek and Black Rifle Coffee Company.  However, besides Gleeson, it is unclear as to whom the parties behind the Heritage Outdoor Group are.  As you can imagine, speculation is running rampant on various social media channels and bowhunting forums.

So, what does this mean for PSE moving forward?

According to founder Pete Shepley, “I have full confidence in the Heritage Outdoor Group to continue to build upon the foundation I have built here at PSE.”

While other brands such as Allen, Ben Pearson, Jennings, and Browning have faded away, PSE continues to innovate and has seen a resurgence in popularity in recent years.  Thanks, in part, to their partnership with popular bowhunter and social media personality  John Dudley and Nock On Archery.

Dudley had this to say, “PSE Archery has proved to be the most accurate bow in my career, and I’m excited to have the horsepower of the Heritage Outdoor Group behind our passion to inspire and educate the archery community.”

He went on to say, “As we have gotten to know the Heritage team, we are thrilled for this next chapter of our partnership.”

PSE’s VP of Sales, Marketing and Product Development, Lonnie Workman, had this to say about the new purchase, “Joining forces with Heritage Outdoor Group is a major milestone for PSE Archery. With the support of Heritage, we will be able to bring our products and expertise to a larger audience and continue to grow and innovate in the archery market.”

Currently, PSE Archery is the only company within the Heritage Outdoor Group portfolio.

However, according to their website, there will be more announcements coming soon. What those announcements will be is anyone’s guess.
