Imagine being able to range a target and instantly have its location appear on your smartphone. This is now possible with the RX-5000 TBR/W s pinning feature and the Leupold Control app. By aiming ranging and pinning you can mark waypoints on digital mapping systems like onX Hunt Google Maps and Apple Maps simplifying tasks like scouting and backcountry navigation. But before you can drop pins accurately you ll need to calibrate the compass inside the RX-5000 TBR/W. In fact calibrating at the start of every outing is essential to prevent environmental factors from affecting your pins. Regardless of where you hunt whether it s in the wide-open West or the hardwoods back East you ll need to adjust to the magnetic field of each location. A little versatility goes a long way in the wild and the RX-5000 TBR/W delivers it with three distinct ranging modes: TBR LOS and LONG. You can access these modes through the rangefinder s internal menu or the Leupold Control app allowing you to adapt to almost any situation. True Ballistic Mode (TBR) Helps you make ballistic adjustments before taking the shot. Line of Sight Mode (LOS) is for straightforward distance measurements without accounting for angle. Long Range Mode (LONG) is similar to LOS Mode but will allow you to extend the reach of the RX-5000 to 5 000 yards on trees and animals. New to the RX-5000 Features users can now download Bow Mode to new and already purchased units. Upon activating Bow Mode owners are given two options: TRIG and Archer s Advantage. TRIG mode works with the RX-5000 to provide the equivalent horizontal range for arrows. It allows the RX-5000 to provide ballistically equivalent horizontal distances out to 175 yards for archery shots and is ideal for tree stand hunting and spot and stalk shooting situations out to 70 yards with angles less than 20 degrees. Archer s Advantage meanwhile takes customization to the next level- it uses your personal bow and arrow ballistics to deliver the most accurate archery shoot-to range possible enabling serious hunters to take advantage of high angle long range shots typical in rugged mountainous conditions. Accounting for your bow s velocity peep height arrow weight and the angles of your shots the ballistic software turns out deadly-accurate ranges that are customized to your setup.
