The Hammer Coach is CZ USA’s take on an all-American classic: the coach gun. Coach guns were originally used by stagecoach guards, who recognized the advantages of shorter double barrel shotguns as a means for defense. These guards often sat next to the driver – hence the term “riding shotgun”. The CZ Hammer Coach itself is an authentic reproduction of the original, and is an excellent choice for cowboy action shooting. The receiver features color case hardening, giving the Hammer Coach both durability and a unique, striking appearance. One of the shotgun’s more notable features is its exposed and fully functional hammers, the same kind that the original coach guns used.
