Walk The Dog Popper Topwater Pencil Popper Lure Surface Fishing Bait for Freshwater and Saltwater Species

This topwater fishing lure is a hard bait designed for surface presentation in freshwater and coastal saltwater environments. The lure combines pencil bait movement with popper style water disturbance creating a structure suited for zigzag walking action short splashes and long casting performance. Its elongated body profile supports stable flight during casting and helps the bait travel across the upper water layer with a controlled side to side path when worked with rod twitches. The front section is shaped to displace water on retrieve allowing a popper effect while the narrow body form also supports a pencil style walk the dog action. The lure is fitted with metal connection hardware and treble hooks forming a practical setup for predator fishing. The hard body construction is intended for repeated use and is suitable for use in rivers lakes reservoirs estuaries and nearshore sea fishing conditions. It can be worked with different techniques including steady surface retrieve stop and go light jerks and rhythmic twitching. These retrieve methods allow the bait to imitate a fleeing baitfish skittering prey or surface disturbance depending on rod input and line control. The body features a printed fish pattern with reflective detailing and a shaped eye area giving the lure a realistic baitfish style appearance. This visual design is paired with a streamlined profile that helps maintain balance during casting and surface movement. The lure is intended for species that strike near the top of the water column including whitebait chub asp trout and sea bass. It is also suitable for general topwater lure use where predatory fish respond to visible surface action. The compact hard bait format makes it useful for covering open water shoreline structure current seams and feeding zones where fish are active near the surface. Its action can be adjusted from subtle walking motion to sharper popping disturbance depending on retrieve speed and rod cadence. This gives the lure a broad operating range within surface fishing applications while remaining focused on a simple hard bait structure. The combination of topwater movement casting shape and hook layout makes this lure suitable for anglers looking for a surface walking and popping bait for multiple target species in both freshwater and inshore environments.
