Dan Bayus is a dreamer. And a do’er. He’d rather
be shown than told. Dan’s theory: Test the theory first
and hyper-focus your shots. It seems Dan does this in and out of
the field and that’s probably what makes him a great deer
hunter and deadly archer. Dan grew up in the land of Ohio
giants and has recently relocated to Pennsylvania. Not
surprisingly, even though he won’t share exact locations or GPS
co-ordinates, Dan already has a focus buck for the season.
Dan prefers to hunt this way: focus on particular bucks,
understand that deer pattern hunters, and know that treestands are
your friend. To help him become a better archer Dan once
spent time with a US Olympic Archery coach. That’s what he means by
hyper focus. We learn from Dan how he prepares for each
hunt, how he watches cold fronts, wind directions, barometric
pressure, and moon phases, learning buck tendencies, and late
