The CZ Quail was built at the request of Pheasants Forever, and borrows much of its design (and price) from CZ’s popular Drake Over/Under shotgun series. The Quail differs from the Drake with a shorter length of pull – this was done deliberately to provide a better shooting experience for younger shooters. The Quail features a mid-rib delete to trim a little bit of weight off of the end of the muzzle, making the gun easier to shoulder and swing while tracking moving targets. After a brief break-in period, the CZ Quail’s breech and extractors are remarkably easy to open when compared to Over/Under shotguns with ejectors. In addition to its ease of use, the Quail is built to last a lifetime thanks to a durable stock made from premium Turkish walnut, and a black chrome finish on the barrels gives the gun excellent corrosion resistance.
